For clinicians
Who can apply to the founding cohort?
Any actively licensed mental health clinician in the United States: LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LCMHC, PhD, PsyD, or psychiatric APRN. Pre-licensed associates are eligible at a discounted rate when supervised by a network member.
How is licensure verified?
We verify every license against the issuing state board within 48 hours of application. Verification is free and never delegated to a third-party platform.
Will Heal Your Roots take a cut of my fees?
No. Membership is a flat monthly fee ($9 Community or $19 Pro for founders). We never take a percentage of your sessions or charge per intake.
Can I keep my existing private-practice website?
Yes. The Heal Your Roots directory complements your existing practice. We are not a brand replacement.
Is malpractice insurance included?
Not yet. Group malpractice coverage is on the roadmap for Year 2. Founding Pro members will get first-look pricing.
Can I see clients across state lines?
Only in states where you hold an active license, plus PSYPACT-eligible states for psychologists. We surface only valid jurisdictions on your profile.

When can I find a therapist on Heal Your Roots?
Client matching opens after the founding cohort fills (capped at 100 clinicians nationally). Join the waitlist to be matched first in your state.
Do you take insurance?
Insurance acceptance varies by clinician. Every founding member commits to publishing transparent rates and offering at least one accessible-fee option.
What if I want to see a therapist who shares my identity?
Our directory filters by gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, faith background, language, and lived experience. You should never have to teach your clinician basic context.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
For most concerns, outcome studies show no significant difference between online and in-person therapy. For some conditions (severe trauma, eating disorders, certain group treatments) in-person may be preferred. A founding clinician can help you decide.
What if I am in crisis?
Heal Your Roots is not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room. Once you are safe, we can help you find ongoing care.
Pricing & billing
How does founding pricing work?
Founding members lock in $9/month (Community) or $19/month (Pro) for the lifetime of their continuous membership. Future cohorts will pay general-availability pricing.
When am I charged?
You are not charged at the time of application. Once your license is verified and the cohort opens, you complete checkout and your first month begins.
What is your refund policy?
Cancel any time. We refund the unused portion of your current month.
